Ethnic Educational Inequality in Comparative Perspective

This is a joint EDUC and SOCCULT research project which involves junior, senior researchers and PHD students from five EQUALSOC member institutions. This project is focused on educational inequalities among ‘second generation’ ethnic minorities. Its objective is to measure the impact of social class and migration/nativity (and/or ethnicity) on educational attainment in different countries. The project also intends to explore possible explanations for the differences between ethnic groups and across nations. The team will use both national and cross-national data sets (such as PISA or the European Social Survey).
