Evaluating the Potential of the EU-SILC 2005 Intergenerational Transmission of Poverty Module Seminar

This project is realized jointly under four reserach groups (EDUC/FAMNET/INCDIS/SOCCULT).
We have set out below a workshop proposal relation to an exploration of the potential of the EU-SILC 2005 module relating to The Intergenerational Transmission of Poverty. The workshop will be one of a pair of workshops jointly organised by the EDUC/FAMNET/INCDIS/SOCCULT thematic groups which, while constituting independent funding applications, will involve overlapping participation and pooling of information on outcomes. The second workshop organised by Chiara Saraceno (WZB) and Teresio Poggio (Trento) on The Intergenerational Transfer of Resources will involve an emphasis on resources different from those such as education that have been traditionally been emphasised in the mobility literature. It will explore the possibilities offered by existing data resources in with regard to intergenerational transfers relating to wealth and housing but also factors such as care provision and other forms of social support.
